The importance of vocabulary teaching is self-evident. Yet, the present English vocabulary teaching model is still far more traditional than modern because of the inadequacy of education revolution. The flipped classroom teaching model brings a new horizon to the field of vocabulary teaching. This paper takes the freshmen in the English department of a college in northern part of China as the main body of research analyzes the results of the experimental vocabulary teaching and gets the conclusion that the flipped classroom teaching model promotes English vocabulary teaching outcomes.
The cultivation of critical thinking ability has become the central issue of higher education reform. It is an indispensable part of college education that college students are expected to pursue and achieve in their college years. The course of Readings from British and American Press can serve as a vital approach to help learners to construct meaning and cultivate their critical thinking ability. This paper tries to explore the teaching strategies from three stages-pre-class, in-class and post-class to develop students' critical thinking ability.
Comprehensive English is one of the fundamental courses for English majors and it aims at cultivating students' basic English skills, and laying solid foundation for higher grades. However, the current teaching mode cannot fulfill the needs of the information era any longer due to its old teaching materials and traditional teaching methods. This paper tries to explore the blended teaching mode from three stages-pre-class, in-class and post-class based on the Internet+ background to stimulate students' autonomous learning ability, improve their language competence and comprehensive attainment.
