The study aims to describe the experiences of nursing students in health actions aimed at riverside populations in a Basic Fluvial Health Unit (UBSF) in Amazonas. It is an experience report lived by nursing students at a federal university located in the interior of Amazonas, which occurred in October 2019, during the field practice of the discipline of Health of the Amazonian Populations. The students were subdivided into groups, and each student had the opportunity to carry out the nursing consultation, health education and management. The opportunity to participate in health actions mainly in a river unit allowed significant experiences, making the knowledge acquired from a different cultural, family and social reality rewarding. The importance of such a practice in riverside communities was verified, mainly because it is an innovative experience in a UBSF even during graduation.
