Near-infrared FT'-Raman spectroscopy has been used to obtain the Raman spectra from human cadaver specimens of calcified atherosclerotic aorta, normal, and fibrous atherosclerotic aortic tissues. The feature in the Raman spectra where compared with Raman spectra from protein such as clastin, and collagen, amino acids (tyrosin and tryptophan), ,and lipoprotein (cholesterol).Differences Ranian specEra in the different tissues offer a potentially new optical diagnostic approach to discriminate calcilied plaque Ironi the other tissue types.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
