Clarifying the impact mechanisms of landscape patterns on ecosystem services is highly important for effective ecosystem protection, policymaking, and landscape planning. However, previous literature lacks knowledge about the impact mechanisms of landscape patterns on ecosystem services from a spatial perspective. Thus, this study measured landscape patterns and the ecosystem services value (ESV) using a series of landscape pattern metrics and an improved benefit transfer method based on land-use data from 2015. It explores the impact mechanisms of the landscape pattern metrics on the ESV using the ordinary least-squares method and spatial regression models in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River Urban Agglomerations (MRYRUA), China. We found that forestland was the main landscape type in the MRYRUA, followed by cultivated land, and the fragmentation degree of cultivated land was significantly higher than that of forestland. The findings demonstrate that landscape pattern metrics had a significant impact on ecosystem services, but could vary greatly. Moreover, ecosystem services in the MRYRUA exhibited significant spatial spillover effects and cross-regional collaborative governance was an effective means of landscape planning. This paper acts as a scientific reference and effective guidance for landscape planning and regional ecosystem conservation in MRYRUA and other similarly fast-growing urban agglomerations.
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate coexisting attractors, chaos control and synchronization in a self-exciting homopolar dynamo system in this paper.Design/methodology/approachTwo single controllers are designed and added to the proposed 3D autonomous chaotic system, and its stability at zero equilibrium point is guaranteed by applying an appropriate control signal based on the Lyapunov stability theory.FindingsNumerical simulations reveal that the proposed 3D dynamo system exhibits periodic oscillations, double-scroll chaotic attractors and coexisting attractors. Finally, a single controller is designed for the global asymptotic synchronization of a unidirectionally coupled identical 3D autonomous chaotic system.Originality/valueThe derived results of this paper are new and complement some earlier works. The innovation concludes two points in this paper; coexisting attractors are foundthe and an appropriate control signal based on the Lyapunov stability theory is established. The ideas of this paper can be applied to investigate some other homopolar dynamo systems.
In order to further discover the hidden chaotic attractor and its generating mechanism in the Vijayakumar system, we give a generalized system showing hidden chaotic attractors which are not from homoclinic orbit or heteroclinic orbit and consider Hopf bifurcations (codimension one and two) by first Lyapunov coefficient and second Lyapunov coefficient. The existence of periodic orbits is strictly proved theoretically. We have considered the problem of Hopf bifurcation in the chaotic system with hidden attractors, which will be helpful to reveal the intrinsic relationship between the local stability of equilibria and global complex dynamical behaviors of the chaotic system. Finally, numerical simulations are obtained for showing the correctness of theoretical results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
