Possessing the combined advantages of a stable network structure, brilliant structural color, and high sensitivity, the three-dimensional inverse opal hydrogel film could be used as a colorimetric sensor for the precise detection of glucose.
The synthesis of spiroglycol by one-pot reaction was studied using pentaerythritol, isobutyraldehyde and formaldehyde as starting materials. Under the optimum reacting conditions, the yield and purity of product were 93.6 % and 99.0 %, respectively. Compared to the synthesis methods reported in literatures, not only was the yield of product improved, but also two operating units were omitted. The product was characterized by 1 H NMR and IR.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
