This paper investigates the seasonal variability of an LMDS radio channel obscured by vegetation. A 1-km, 28.8 GHz radio link was established and monitored during spring and fall seasonal changes. The radio path was obscured by two deciduous trees but had more than two Fresnel zones of clearance over the roof ofan adjacent building. Seasonal signal variability was caused by the presence or absence of leaves, which obscured the radio path. Averages of received power are presented to determine attenuation and seasonal variability. Attenuation caused by the trees is 16-18 dB with no leavespresent and 26-28 dB with leavespresent.
