A field experiment was carried out at Experimental Farm, in Alkalahyn, Al -Hajer village, Qeft, Qena governorate, Egypt during 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, to evaluate of three planting methods (Drilling, broadcasting and furrows) and three irrigation intervals (21 , 28 and 35 days) on productivity of three wheat cultivars ( Sids 12 -Misr 2 and Giza 168 ). The results showed that exposing wheat plants to drought stress by increasing irrigation intervals significantly decrease (1000-grain weight, grains spike weight, number of spikes/m 2 , grain yield (ardab/fed) (argab = 150 Kg, fed= feddan= 4200 2 m² = 0.420 hectares = 1.037 acres), straw yield (ton/fed) and protein %). Irrigation intervals showed highly significant difference in for all characters studies. The highest value resulted from application irrigation intervals at 21 day compare with the other irrigation intervals. Planting methods significantly affected by all a previous characters. The highest value for all studies characters resulted from using drilling method. There were highly significant differences among wheat cultivars for all characters under study. The wheat cultivar sids-12 gave of the highest values of all traits compared to the other wheat cultivars used in both seasons.
The present work was conducted at Shandaweel Research Station (Sohag Governorate, Egypt) Farm during 2017 and 2018 seasons to investigate the effects of preceding crop (wheat, clover, barley and faba bean) and weed control treatments (butralin at the rate of 2.5 l/fed (fed= 4200 m 2), flauzifop-p-butyl at the rate of 1.5 l/fed + metribuzin at the rate of 300 cm 3 /fed, clethodim at the rate of 500 cm 3 /fed + metribuzin, hand hoeing twice at 30 and 45 days after sowing and untreated) on nodules, weeds and yield of soybean crop during 2017 and 20018 seasons. Using clover as preceding crop significantly decreased the dry weight of grassy, broadleaved and total weeds (g/m 2) compared to unweeded treatment and increased the number and weight of nodules in the both seasons. Also, it increased significantly plant height, number of branches, number and weight of pods/plant, seeds/pod and plant, seed index, seed yield (ton/fed) seed oil and protein % of soybean in the both seasons. Weed control treatments reduced the dry weight of grassy weeds, broad-leaved and total weeds compared with unweeded control in the both seasons. Amex, flauzifop-p-butyl and bentazon decreased the activity of nodules and weight of nodules in comparison with hand hoeing and unweeded treatments. Application of weed control treatments highly increase plant height, number of branches/plant, number and weight of pods/plant, seeds/pod, seed index, seed yield (ton/fed) seed oil and protein % of soybean crop and as well as seed yield (ton/fed) in the both seasons. The interaction between preceding crop and weed control treatments had a significant effect on the all studied traits in both seasons. Thus, dry weight weeds (g/m 2), number and weight of nodules were decreased under planting of soybean after clover and wheat compared with planting of soybean after barely and faba bean in 2017 and 2018 seasons. Fusilade super + Sencor, Select super + Sencor and hand hoeing twice gave the highest reduction on number and weight of nodules, dry weight of grassy, broad-leaved and total weeds (g/m 2) under planting of soybean after clover and wheat compared with planting of soybean after barely and faba bean and unweeded treatments in both seasons. Fusilade super + Sencor, Select super + Sencor and hand hoeing twice gave increased number and weight of pods/plant, weight of seeds/pod and plant, seed index, seed yield (ton/fed), seed oil % and protein % under planting of soybean after clover and wheat compared with planting of soybean after barley and faba bean and unweeded treatments in the both seasons.
T HIS INVESTIGATION was carried out to induce the mutations in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L) at the Experimental and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University. Two wheat geno.types were treated with different concentrations of di methyl sulfoxide and sodium azide (NaN3). The highest grain yield/ plant (81.27g and 80.56g) were obtained from Sids 14 treated with either (di-methyl sulfoxide at 2000ppm) or sodium azide at 6000ppm. The untreated plant Sids 14 gave 39.23g. The variety Sids 14 was more productive than Misr 1 induction of stable promising mutants according to the final results at M 2 especially with respect to high grain yield/ plant. In general, Sids 14 was more response to chemicals treatment for 1000 grains weight than Misr 1 and gave higher 1000 grains weight. Sids 14 di methyl sulfoxide 1 , Sids 14 DMS 2 , Sids 14 Sodium Azide 1 , Sids 14 Azide 2 and Sids 14 Azide 3 gave (58.27,55g). The geno.types Misr 1 Azide 3 (2, 3 and 6) were short but the genotypes Sids 14 DMS 1 (3 and 7) were tall, while the genotypes Sids 14 DMS 1 (5 and 6) were very tall in both M 1 and M 2. In spite of the high 1000 grain weights variety Sids 14 gave the highest grains no./ spike 72, Sids 14 Azide 3 and Sids 14 DMS 1 giving 88.33 and 87.44 grains, respectively. Mutants Sids 14 Azide 3 and Sids 14 DMS 1 surpassed the original plants in grain no. spike by 22.68% and 21.44%, respectively. There was a significant and positive correlation between yield and spike no./ plant, spikelet no./ spike and grain/ spike across both varieties and generations. There was a low correlation coefficient between grain yield/ plant and 1000 grain weights (0.016) and the negative correlation between grain yield/ plant and plant height (cm).
