For the past few years, great development has been achieved in deep foundation excavation. However, due to foundation excavation’s locality, individual diversity, complexity and uncertainty, the probability of accidents in foundation pit engineering tends to be greater than that in main works, and the accident rate may even reach about 20%, which makes the study on factors leading to foundation excavation accidents quite necessary and meaningful. By use of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), this paper has figured out the ratio (weight) of the investigation, design, construction and other factors leading to foundation excavation accidents to the whole factor set, which is of great guiding significance to the study on prevention and treatment of foundation excavation accidents in future.
Photograph method is a new scanning technique that provides cost-efficient and accurate computer system for log centering. A monochrome video camera is used to document images of a log in a perimeters rotation time. 3D digital contour of the log is constructed with the images. The biggest internal cylinder is calculated in software modules. Experiments in present study proved that photograph method was quite feasible in optimizing log centering with higher accuracy. The cost-efficient near-infrared images used in the devices were able to avoid the impact of changing illumination. This centering system can be utilized in small and medium enterprises.
As a new emerging kind of flooring, antique style flooring has been warmly welcomed by the market. The production of the flooring is produced through artificial processing only and result in some problems. In this paper, a new patented CNC grinding system is introduced, which makes it possible to process concave-convex surface on flooring automatically. There were two major points in developing the system. Firstly, the concave-convex surface processed by this system must have the same visual effects as those processed in artificial way, denting and protruding randomly and maintaining the natural beauty of wood. Secondly, efficiency was another key point for this system. Research goal was to realize the continuous processing, so that more products could be obtained in a shorter time. Test results show that the system could achieve the original design purpose thus providing with a new technology for concave-convex surface processing of antique style flooring.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
