Increasing the efficiency of diesel equipment operation is primarily associated not only with increasing the reliability of its main components, assemblies, joints and parts, but also with reducing costs and fuel consumption during production processes. At the same time, operating experience shows that a significant share of the operating time, the equipment is not fully loaded, often up to 40…50%. The transient and unsteady modes that arise in this case, as well as the design features of the fuel equipment of domestic diesel engines, lead to an excessive consumption of fuel and a significant increase in the unevenness of fuel supply through the engine cylinders to 26…38%. To ensure a minimum clearance in the plunger pair, it is proposed to apply a diamond-like thin film coating based on silicon oxycarbide onto the working surfaces of the parts, which has high microhardness, low friction coefficient, and prevents the setting of contact surfaces by finishing plasma hardening. After applying the technological operation of hardening the working surfaces of the parts by forming a thin film coating, the distribution of the parts over the time of crimping changed so that 82% of the experimental plunger pairs have a hydraulic density exceeding t = 45.7 s with an average value of = 46.7s with a mean square deviation σ = 1.05s. The results obtained during the tests showed that at the nominal speed of rotation of the cam shaft, the cyclic feed of the produced plunger pairs decreased by 2.8%, while in the experimental ones, the decrease in fuel supply was 1.3%, the uneven fuel supply in both cases did not exceed 2%. The predicted resource of the experimental plunger pairs will be 9000 hours, which is 2.25 times more than the resource of serial plunger pairs.

The article reflects the results of operational tests of grain harvesters of various years of production of both domestic and imported production in the farms of the Stavropol Territory. In recent years more equipment has been purchased, but its numerical volumes are still small and do not cover the needs of rural commodity producers. Consequently, the work is mainly carried out on old and worn-out equipment, which, in turn, causes an increase in the wear and tear of the farm's agricultural enterprises. Reduction of combine harvesters and, as a result, increased loads on them leads to a significant increase in the share of failures of these agricultural machines. The duration of harvesting grain directly depends on the number of combine harvesters, their reliability and productivity. The level of reliability of grain harvesters was estimated based on the results of continuous and selective timing of the work of agricultural machines. The specific weight and significance of each of the components of the averaged shift time balance are described. It is established that the productivity of combines with the proper level of maintenance does not depend on the period of their operation.
The article presents the developed technology and equipment for vibration honing of cylinder liners of automotive engines. The device is attached to the spindle head of the machine between the spindle and the hone of the honing machine. The roughness of the treated working surface of the sleeves is reduced and the lubrication conditions of the sleeve–piston ring coupling of the connecting rod-piston group of automotive engines are improved after repair. (Research purpose) The research purpose is to improve the technological process of honing cylinder liners in order to reduce the time for processing the inner surface and improve technological parameters. (Materials and methods). The final honing of the inner surface of the cylinder liners was carried out by the method of flat-topped honing with graphite saturation of the inner surface of the liners. The article presents the design of a honing head with abrasive-filled polyamide threads for flat-topped honing of the inner surface of the cylinder liners of automotive engines. The use of the proposed head makes it possible to reduce mechanical losses and increase the service life of the sleeve-piston of KAMAZ-740 engines during repair. (Results and discussion) In order to increase the wear resistance of the cylinder liners of automotive engines, it was proposed to additionally carry out patching of the inner surface during the repair process. The applied layer has one hundred percent extreme pressure resistance with a counter-coupling part (piston ring). Tests during the running-in and operation of the D-240 engines showed high (1.2-1.4 times) wear resistance of cylinder liners after brassing in comparison with liners restored according to standard technology. (Conclusions) The results of the study indicate the expediency of applying the developed recommendations for improving technology and equipment at repair and technical enterprises of the agro-industrial Stavropol Territory. The calculation of the economic efficiency of improving the technology and equipment for repairing the cylinder liners of automotive engines at the site in the AOOT "Repairman" showed the expediency of increasing their wear resistance and the resource of the connecting rod-piston group.
