Reduction of electrical consumption of a electric vehicle (EV) and electrical appliance is one of solutions for reduction of CO2 gas. Then, we have developed a novel permanent magnet motor for energy saving. In this paper, we propose a novel motor that can change magnetic flux by a new method magnetizing a permanent magnet and clarify the principle and unique characteristics. Furthermore, the results of analysis and experiments prove that the novel motor can change the flux of permanent magnet on load and has realization for a variable speed drive with high performance.Index Terms-permanent magnet motor, magnetization, reluctance torque, variable speed, high efficiency, electric vehicle, hybrid electric vehicle, energy saving
The results of the loss measurements of some rare-earth permanent magnets in a. c. magnetic field are presented. The losses are consisted of the eddy-current losses and the hyteresis losses of the magnets itselves and the eddy-current losses of the metal coatings . The hysteresis losses occur in Sm2Co17 type ones. These data can be applied for estimating the tooth-ripple losses of the motors with permanent magnets on the pole surfaces, and for discussing the flux loss under the motor flux condition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
