The second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries saw massive transformations in different domains of public life which significantly affected families as well. Sociological studies have discovered behavioral norms behind relationships in families and marriages being washed out, transformation in family roles, development of new norms and principles which come as a basis for matrimonial, parent-child and intergenerational relationships. The modern society experienced a critical shift in gender roles or parents. The role of a father and a male is losing its value. Some of the reasons are that in case of divorce in Russia children most usually stay with mothers.Russian parents inherit family practices from their own parents and modify them in accordance with their own experience and feeling what would be most beneficial for their children. Parenting styles in Russia are based on Russian mentality, way of life, traditions and current environmental situation and thus may differ from the parenting patters of other countries.To analyze transformations in parenthood and parenting in a modern Russian family the paper refers to a study "Parenthood, upbringing and childhood in a modern Russian family" (Novgorod, 2013).
The study examined cultural similarities and differences in how adolescents deal with conflicting expectations of parents and peers. It was tested to what extent adolescents' interdependence values and satisfaction with family and friendships predict the way they would solve the disagreement, where they had planned to go out with friends, but their parents wanted them to stay at home to do chores. Moreover, adolescents' reasons for their reported actions were examined. The sample included 894 Estonian, German, and Russian adolescents (M age around 15 years). The decline in the size of the population in Russia presents economic and social challenges for the society and for policymakers, but research data show that the values found in families (and especially the values of women) do not lead one to expect much change in the number of children born toRussian families in the foreseeable future.
Introduction. A contradiction which we are able to observe over a few recent decades between necessity to participate in innovative processes and their natural stressogenic character has underlined the importance of developing programs for proactive organizational socialization which will be capable of building up successful behavior competences in VUCA environment in Industry 4.0. When self-actualization in labor is being devalued, attitude to labor is now considered as a key competence. Purpose: to reveal features of attitude to labor as a basis of professional socialization of learners studying at industrial colleges in countries which are now entering the new technological reality with a different degree of success: Russia, China and Iran.
Materials and Methods. The analysis draws on the data obtained with WorkBAT method developed by J. Spence and A. Robbins, and their correlation with the values of organizational cultures which are characteristic of industrial colleges. The data on organizational cultures were obtained with OCAI method developed by C. Cameron and R. Quinn.
Results. Russian students do not feel the changed nature of labor, their attitude to it is substituted by a wish to strengthen clan-based and loosen hierarchical components of the organizational cultures. Iranian students have a negative attitude to labor in a real hierarchical environment and a positive attitude to it in an innovative market environment, which suggests that they would be engaged and emotionally satisfied. Chinese students, having experienced specific organizational cultures of innovative companies in real life, have a positive attitude to labor in a hierarchical environment of stability and certainty.
Discussion and Conclusion. The findings contribute to the development of scientific understanding of the role of value-based work readiness in the turbulent environment of a modern enterprise and the psychological mechanisms of proactive organizational socialization, taking into account socio-cultural country specificity.
