This article is the report of the first phase of the research and development (R&D) in developing a blended learning model of instruction at the PSU. The objectives of the first phase were to find information about: the readiness of PSU to utilize blended learning as a model of instruction, the profile of locus of control, the profile of learning style of students, and student's expectations about the use of blended learning. The study conducted at the Faculty of Economic, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Sport Science, and Computer Center.. It was founded that PSU has already had a sufficient necessary infrastructure to start developing a blended learning model; In terms of locus of control the students can be categorized into external and internal locus of control, and most of them (71%) are internal locus of control; In terms of learning styles, students can be categorized into the visual learning style, auditory, and kinesthetic. Most of the students have visual learning style (59%), followed by auditory (24%), and kinesthetic (17%). Furthermore, students expected learning by blended learning would be interesting, useful and not difficult. The variables, locus of control and learning styles, needs to be considered in developing a web-based learning model.
This study is motivated by the students' low learning outcomes in accounting subject. This is allegedly caused by the less conducive school environment and family environment and the relatively low learning motivation. This study is a descriptive associative research with the population of 75 accounting students of 12th grade in state vocational high school (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri-SMKN) Bismen, Tanah Datar. The sample was selected by using random sampling technique with a total sample of 64 students. The data were collected using a survey questionnaire. The data were analyzed using path analysis. The results showed that 1) there is a significant influence of school environment on students' learning motivation, 2) there is a significant influence between family environment on students' learning motivation, 3) there is a significant influence between the school environment on students' learning outcomes, 4) there is a significant influence of family environment on learning performance of XII AK students of SMK Bismen Tanah Datar, 5) there is a significant influence between learning motivation on learning performance of XII AK students in SMK Bismen, Tanah Datar.
The report is a part of developing integrative learning model (MPI) on the biology of animal development. The research objective was to determine the needs analysis of developing MPI on the biology of animal development at STAIN Batusangkar. The research use Plomp model. The data obtained will be analyzed by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The result showed that philosophy of STAIN Batusangkar is an integration. Analysis of the characteristics of students showed that students of STAIN Batusangkar has a heterogeneous background of the aspects of capability. These results are based on the findings of the Academic Performance Index, schools and majors while undergoing studies in high school, the course precondition and the results of multiple intelegencie test. Developmental of biology material is characterized by the facts, concepts, principles and theories. In conclusion, the research is a part of activity that supports of developing MPI on the biology of animal development at STAIN Batusangkar.
Each student has their own learning style which can be one of the factors that will support their success in learning. In general, learning styles are divided into: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Some students categorized as visual, and others categorized as auditory or kinesthetic. Students tend to process information more quickly if the information obtained in accordance with their style. Lecturers should know the student's learning style so they can design an instruction that suits them. This study aimed to uncover the learning styles of students of Padang State University. The study of literature used to reveal the importance of learning styles to be considered in the blended learning process, both in face-to-face learning and online learning. The research found that 57% of students have a visual learning style, 27% have auditory learning style, and the rest have a kinesthetic learning style. These results may be better used as guidelines for lecturers to design blended learning.
Nowadays, there are still many universities that have not maximized the use of information technology in the learning process. The learning process still uses conventional methods, especially in terms of student assignments. The purpose of this study was to develop cooperative learning models in information systems project management courses. The method used in this study was the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This is one model that becomes a guideline in developing effective, dynamic learning and supporting learning itself. The results of this study are practical and effective web-based cooperative learning models for students in universities.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
