Practical Synthesis of Amides from Alkynyl Bromides, Amines, and Water. -Reaction of alkynyl bromides (I) and (IV) with primary or secondary amines (II) and (V) in aqueous solution provides an efficient access towards carboxylic amides in good yields. The method proceeds without the need for transition metal catalysts and organic solvents. Aniline (IIg) is not a suitable substrate. -(CHEN, Z.-W.; JIANG*, H.-F.; PAN, X.-Y.; HE, Z.-J.; Tetrahedron 67 (2011) 33, 5920-5927, http://dx.
