This research aims to investigate character values that can be applied on students through congkak game as it is used as a media of mathematics learning. This study used qualitative and quantitative combination or (exploratory mixed methods designs). The first phase of qualitative data was taken through in-depth interviews to 5 selected informants using purposive sampling technique. All data interviews were analyzed thematically using NVivo qualitative analysis tool 10. Then, the second phase of the data was taken using a questionnaire to 46 students who were studying in grade V and VI in an elementary school (SD). The entire data of the second phase analyzed descriptively using quantitative analysis tools SPSS Windows 18.0. Overall, the results of the two phases indicated that there were nine character values contained in the game congkak once it was used as a medium of mathematics learning. The nine-character values were honesty, discipline, hard working, creativity, curiosity, independent, communicativeness, responsibility and appreciation for achievements. The results also proved that the use of instructional media such as traditional game congkak can be used as an intermediary that can be used by teachers in mathematics learning process.
This study is aimed at analyzing the effect of Professional Education and Training for Teachers (PLPG) in improving pedagogic competence and teacher performance. The research used quantitative method through survey approach. The data was taken from 35 respondents using the training exam module and teacher performance instruments. All data were analyzed using software SPSS for Windows release 22.0 through both descriptive and correlation analysis. The result of descriptive analysis of teachers pedagogic competence after taking training test is good (83,74%). Furthermore, Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis shows that there is a significant negative correlation between these activities and teachers performance obtained (rcount) = -0.590 at 0.000 significance level. The results of the analysis show that teachers need to follow the training to improve their pedagogic competence as well as their performance in teaching and assessing. Since the teachers’ knowledge increases, it will definitely have an impact on their performance at school.
This study aims to examine the effect of market orientation toward organizational learning, innovation, competitive advantage, and corporate performance in South Kalimantan. The study design is classified as quantitative research design to examine the relationship between variables. The results show that market orientation has direct significant effect on organizational learning, innovation, and corporate performance, and market orientation has non-significant yet direct effect on competitive advantage. Limitation of this study lies in the reluctance of the owners of SME Sasirangan to explain the company's financial statements that financial data can only be obtained through direct answers on the questionnaires provided. The other limitation is that most SME owners in Sasirangan education level is medium, and old business tends to be dominated by a relatively new owner resulted in a bias in providing answers or statements, so the approach in this study is less comprehensive..
The development of business through internet media (e-business) is increasingly prevalent throughout the world. Information and communication technology has also caused borderless relations and caused significant social, economic and cultural changes to occur so quickly. This study aims to examine and explain the effect of electronic service quality on electronic satisfaction, electronic trust, e-word of mouth and online repurchase intention. The survey method was used in this study and for the study sample there were 142 respondents who were hotel consumers who had stayed at one of the three-star hotels in Lampung Province, Indonesia. The research location is 15 three star hotels in Lampung Province, which consists of 13 districts and 2 cities. The questionnaire is the main instrument for collecting primary data. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics and Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA). The results of this study are two hypotheses is not significant, namely esatisfaction and e-trust has no significant effect on e-wom. The new finding in the results of this study is that there is a significant effect between e-wom on online repurchase intention, where prior study has no effect between the two variables on online repurchases on the hotel website. The new finding of this study are significant effect between e-wom on the online repurchase intention, which was not previously found related to online purchases on the hotel website.
Choosing a career as an Islamic teacher has many challenges as well as fun, not everyone is interested in this profession except those who have strong motivation. This study aims to find out the real motivation of students to select department of Islamic teaching education in public university, even though this department is widely offered by state and private Islamic universities. This study uses qualitative methods with a case study approach (case study design). Sources of data were taken from thirty informants through in-depth interviews selected using a purposive sampling technique, all informants were active students who chose the department of Islamic teaching education at Padang State University in 2017, 2018 and 2019. All interviews were analyzed thematically using the NVivo 10 qualitative analysis software. The results of the analysis showed that there were seven motivations of students to select department of Islamic teaching education. Those seven motivations are: i) self-will, ii) parents' encouragement, iii) choice to become a religious teacher, iv) job opportunities after graduation, v) desire to study at public universities vi) opportunity to spread dakwah, vii) to deepen Islamic knowledge. The results of this study can be used as preliminary data for subsequent researchers to examine this problem in different contexts and issues.
