Introduction:-Child enuresis is a widespread problem that can be upsetting for children and their families. Design:-The present study is a quasi-experimental one, aimed to provide an educational program for mothers to enhance their knowledge, attitude and practice toward their children with nocturnal enuresis. Methodology:-This study was conducted at El Fayoum University Hospital and El Fayoum general hospital. The study involved 50 mothers having children with nocturnal enuresis. Tools of the study involved an interview questionnaire to assess socio-demographic characteristics of mothers and their children, mothers' knowledge regarding enuresis as well as their attitude and practice. Results:-showed that, mothers' levels of knowledge about enuresis, attitude and practice have dramatically improved after the educational program implementation with statistically significant differences between pre-post implementation. There were statistically significant relations between mothers' level of knowledge about enuresis, attitude and practice. Conclusion:-This study recommended that continuous educational program for mothers having children with nocturnal enuresis to update their knowledge and skills about the advancing technology in the health care for their children. This educational program could be delivered through mass media, posters, booklets, MCH centers and individual counseling. Early counseling should be directed to mothers regarding toilet training, especially for families with positive history of enuresis among their members.
Background: education staff's emotional Intelligence has a vital role for all work with student, especially nursing teachers because the presence of emotional intelligence improves the quality of work life for nursing and patients Aim of the study: assess the effect of emotional intelligence level and its relation to quality of work life among nursing teachers Design: descriptive correlative study Setting: was conducted in Technical institute of Nursing, Fayoum University at east of Cairo government Sample: Random samples Size: (53) nursing teacher involved both genders working at the above mentioned settings. Three Tools of data collection Structured questionnaire to assess A) the socio-demographic characteristics of nursing teachers) an emotional intelligence questionnaire to assess level of emotional intelligence C) Quality of work life scale to assess quality of work life. Results: more than two third of nursing teacher were female and had Bachelor degree and low scores of emotional intelligence were associated with low scores of quality of work life for nursing teachers But emotional intelligence components were not significantly correlated in Intrapersonal part, Interpersonal part and General mood but the quality of work life were significantly correlated in all items except Work environment and relation and cooperation Conclusion: The positive significant correlation between emotional intelligence with its components and the quality of work for nursing teachers..Recommendations: Further studies should be carried out all teachers in different school, institutes and universities and Designing training programs to increase the awareness of teachers about emotional intelligence and their effect on quality of work life.
Autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) are a set of Neuro developmental disorders that cover the lifespan. It is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life (Liss et al., 2011). Autistic disorder includes three areas of abnormality with impaired social interactions (failure to develop peer relationship, no eye contact or other nonverbal interactive behaviors, no seeking to share enjoyment with others, or lack of social response), impaired communication (delay or lack of language, stereotyped language, repetition of words said by others, or lack of imaginative play) and stereotyped behavior (inflexibility, preoccupation with odd interests, strict adherence to nonfunctional routines, or repetitive mannerisms such as hand flapping or head banging) (Matson & Rivet, 2016). The prevalence of autism spectrum disorder among children is 1 in 150 children worldwide. Autism is four times prevalent in boys than girls (Center for disease control & prevention, 2014). While Hafiz, (2007) found in his study that one child in every 870 Egyptian child has Autism. The exact cause of autism is unknown.There are many environmental factors and biological predispositions. The environmental concerns as exposure to heavy metals such as lead and mercury. Some of the disorders associated with increased rates of autism include the rare genetic conditions involving a variant of the MET gene.
