The stress-strain curve, the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of different cement-soils and the influence of the surface roughness on the UCS of the silt cement-soil were obtained, using the laboratory test. Test results indicate that comparing with other four kinds of cement-soil (the silver sand cement-soil, the silt cement-soil, the clay cement-soil and the muck cement-soil, respectively), the peak strain of the gravel cement-soil is smaller, the values of which are about 0.01, whereas the strain of other four cement-soils are about 0.016 to 0.03, suggesting that the gravel cement-soil is in a brittle failure state and has a worse ductility. Furthermore, the UCS of the cement-soil increases significantly with increasing curing time throughout a curing period of 60 days, after which the increased trend becomes smaller. In addition, the UCS of the cement-soil increases remarkably within a certain amount of cement content. For the silver sand cement-soil, the muck cement-soil and the gravel cement-soil, this amount is 10% to 15%, whereas the amount of cement content is 15% to 20% for the silt cement-soil. The UCSs of the silt cement-soil with a curing time of 28 days and both sides unoiled are larger than those with both sides oiled, and the values of the strength ratio are about 1.1 to 1.2.
