Iako su tendencije brojnih istraživača dugi niz godina bile usmjerene prema kvantitativnim metodama i statističkim procedurama te pojedinim kvalitativnim metodama i izvorima podataka, posljednjih godina brojni autori govore o uočenom povećanju interesa prema pristupu životne povijesti. Svoje značajne začetke životna povijest bilježi upravo u sociologiji. Unatoč tomu, područje sociologije u Hrvatskoj i dalje ne pokazuje znatniji interes za raspravom teorijskih i metodoloških aspekata životne povijesti. Ovisno o interesima istraživača, životna povijest može se promatrati kroz različite perspektive, kao teorijsko-metodološki okvir, ali i kao metoda istraživanja. Ona omogućuje načine dubinskog dokumentiranja individualnih priča unutar društvenog konteksta tijekom određenog vremena te je pogodna za istraživanje širokog spektra fenomena što ističe metodološku snagu ovog pristupa. Unatoč tomu, kao i kod drugih kvalitativnih pristupa, i kod životne povijesti pojavljuju se pitanja vezana uz refleksivna razmatranja istraživačkog dizajna, te ostala specifična metodološka i etička pitanja. S druge strane, njezine metodološke i istraživačke prednosti u istraživanjima brojnih društvenih fenomena upućuju na potrebu razmatranja uloge pristupa životne povijesti u suvremenoj sociološkoj metodologiji.
Research showed different results in the perception and acceptance of migrants in Croatia. Earlier research show that respondents perceive migrants as socio-economic and a sociocultural threat while newer ones show mostly positive attitudes towards migrants and belief that there should be equal living conditions for all persons in Croatia. Considering that the integration takes place at the level of local community, the opinions and attitudes of the local population are extremely important. There is a need for continuous examination of public opinions and attitudes.The aim of this study was to research the perception of migrants in the adult population living at the external EU border, precisely, in the rural settlements of Split-Dalmatia County, near Bosnia and Herzegovina border. The research area is on the Southern Balkan migrant route. In recent years, irregular migrants have crossed Croatian territory on their way to Western countries. The local population who lives on migrant route is exposed to encounters and occasionally to incidents with migrants.The survey method was used. For the purposes of research, a questionnaire was designed. The research focus was on two questions: how do local people perceive migrants and did the vicinity of the migrant route and migrants influence their everyday life and safety? In general, the results showed intolerance, strong social distance, and stereotypes towards migrants. Due to the closeness of migrant route, the part of respondents feels unsafe while some of them change daily habits.
Numerous studies show that the socio-economic factors significantly affect the child's psychophysical abilities as well as the development of certain values and morals. Socio-economic status is often singled out as a factor of social stratification and as such, directly or indirectly, affects all stages of an individual's education. Regardless of "free" education in Croatia (at primary and secondary school level), socio-economic status is still associated with the possibility of choosing a school, school program and further profiling of students. That is why the aim of this research is to examine the impact of parents 'socioeconomic status on students' educational aspirations. The characteristics of the socioeconomic status examined in this paper are the level of education of the parents, household income, the number of books in the household and reading activities. At the same time, the researchers in this paper examine the extent to which children will follow the parental example and whether parents will impose their wishes and ideas regarding the child's education.The research was conducted using the survey method in 2020 on a convenient sample of 203 respondents aged 18 to 22 years living in Split (first and second year students of different faculties). The obtained results indicate the existence of a latent socio-economic impact in terms of the level of education of both father and mother, where a higher level of education of parents is associated with a more positive attitude towards university obligations and desires in continuing education. The results show that the division into malefemale occupations is still present in society, with a high percentage of fathers who were educated in technical occupations, while mothers were mostly educated in the social sciences and humanities. There is a correlation between the number of books in the home library and the total number of books that students have read, but the number of read books is not related to the parent's reading habits. However, no direct and intrusive influence of parents on respondents' decisions regarding study and life habits was found.
Zdrave životne navike stječu se rano, u djetinjstvu i ranoj mladosti, a u današnje vrijeme njihova se važnost sve više ističe. Studentski život je, što se toga tiče, kritično razdoblje za mlade koji zbog pritiska fakultetskih obveza ponekad zanemaruju posvetiti se zdravom životu. Upravo zbog toga cilj ovoga rada bio je ispitati percepcije i iskustva zdravog života studenata i studentica Sveučilišta u Splitu. U radu se prezentiraju rezultati istraživanja provedenog tijekom lipnja i srpnja 2019. godine, metodom polustrukturiranog intervjua na prigodnom uzorku od dvadeset sugovornika/-ca koji su u vrijeme provođenja intervjua bili fizički aktivni odnosno aktivno ili rekreativno su se bavili sportom ili nekom drugom tjelesnom aktivnosti. Ispitana su njihova mišljenja o važnosti vođenja zdravog načina života, informiranosti o zdravim životnim navikama, utjecaju medija i društvenih mreža na aspekte zdravog života itd. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju kako većina sugovornika, osim što su redovito fizički aktivni, također pazi na svoju prehranu. Upravo ta dva segmenta svi sugovornici naglašavaju pri svojoj definiciji zdravog života, te ističu kako se trude održavati zdrave životne navike. Fizička aktivnost na njih djeluje pozitivno, opušta ih te im pomaže u nošenju sa stresom. Gotovo su svi zadovoljni svojom informiranošću o zdravim životnim navikama. Polovica njih smatra da bi obrazovne institucije (fakulteti) trebale poticati zdrav život studenata, a isto toliko ih želi promijeniti nešto kod sebe u vidu poboljšanja zdravijeg načina života. Većina ih ne prati nijedan medijski sadržaj koji se tiče zdravog života te su podijeljenih stavova o utjecaju medija na zdrave životne navike mladih ljudi.
