This paper aims to explain the implementation of the establishment of ma'had al-jami'ah UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang as a form of implementing the integration of higher education and Islamic boarding schools. This paper uses a descriptive-analytical approach. The technique used by researchers in collecting data is through library data and field observations. This paper complements the shortcomings of previous studies, the previous studies examine the integration of pesantren (boarding school) and university in 3 models; first, a study on the trend of pesantren establishing a university to increase religious knowledge called ma'had 'aly. Second, the Islamic boarding school, an attempt by pesantren to establish a university in the pesantren environment. The third, the efforts of university (PTKIN) are philosophically and conceptually concerned in the integration of science and religion which are implemented in the integration between university and pesantren. This study explains practically the development of the integration of Islamic higher education and pesantren/ma'had as a model of formal institutions capable of realizing the needs of newer system education. Development of the integration between Islamic Universities and Islamic boarding schools which produces superior scholars, mastering science, and technology (IPTEK) but it should not ignore the aspects of faith and piety (IMTAQ).
Textbooks are written with a focus on various aspects in order to keep up with developments and times and can implement the curriculum. HOTS is a high-level thinking skill teachers and students must possess in the 21st century. HOTS is an essential part of a textbook because textbooks are a learning medium. This study aims to determine the implementation of HOTS in textbooks and describe the instructions in the eleventh-grade Arabic textbook by Dariyadi and Feriandika. Various levels of instruction in a textbook are needed to determine student abilities, strengthen understanding, and evaluate and measure the goals achieved from a lesson. This research is literature research with a content analysis technique. The type of research data is primary data in the form of textbooks, data collection through documentation, verification, selection, focus, data, and then conclusion. The results showed that the Arabic textbook for class XI SMA had reflected HOTS with as much as 75% of HOTS-based exercises. The instructional level is at levels C4-C6 in analyzing, discovering, and creating.
Learning Arabic should pay attention to elements closely related to Arabic linguistics and the stages of its teaching. In addition to learning Arabic, it is also important to pay attention to technical elements that strengthen the teaching process to be effective and achieve optimal results. If the most important elements of linguistic and non-linguistic aspects are ignored, then learning will face problems. This study aims to find out the problems of learning Arabic in universities. The results of the study found that linguistic and linguistic problems were encountered in the learning process. Furthermore, studies on learning problems are reviewed based on descriptive studies from students and researchers presenting solutions and contributions to problems encountered during learning. In line with that, this study suggests the importance for a teacher to understand the most important elements of Arabic linguistics and its teaching and pay attention to the factors that support language learning to achieve maximum results.
