Deciding appropriate blend for certain learning outcomes is very crucial in designing an effective blended learning. Blended learning is not just simply combining face-to-face learning with online learning. The challenge is to determine the most appropriate blended learning strategies to achieve a series of desired learning outcomes. Blended learning designers utilize a model of criteria as a guideline to answer to this challenge. This research was aimed to develop a proposed model of criteria for determining the appropriate blended learning strategy. Hence, the research questions become: 1) Is the model created fitting a conceptual framework? and 2) Is the model created effective and implementable? Consequently, formative evaluation techniques were employed to answer these research questions, i.e. experts review, one-on-one evaluation, and field test. These methods were used to collect descriptive and formative data. This study was followed by 7 instructional designers and e-learning experts as well as 235 lecturers as respondents. Upon completing a series of formative evaluations, result of this study showed that the model created is conceptually fitting, effective and implementable as a lecturer's guide in determining the appropriate blended learning strategy.
Blended learning is not just merely blending face-to-face and online learning. The biggest challenge is making the right mix of relevant learning settings and teaching strategies to meet the learning outcomes. The latest study showed that research focusing on the instructional system design (ISD) model developments, especially related to blended learning approach, were still limited. This study aims to develop an ISD model that can provide a guideline for lecturers in creating a good course using a blended learning approach. This study applied a formative research method. A series of formative evaluation using several formative data collection techniques were used. They were expert review, one-to-one evaluations, and field tests. This study involved 242 respondents, consists of 7 instructional design and e-learning experts, and 235 lecturers. After conducted a series of formative evaluation stages, respondents able to create a good quality course using the ISD model developed. Most of them get fair and low scores on the field test 1. The score increased significantly on the field test 2, where 33.6% get excellent scores, 48.2% get good scores, and 28.2% get fair scores. The score also increased significantly on field test 3 60.5% get excellent scores, 33.6% get good scores, and only 5.9% get poor scores. Hence, it can be concluded that the ISD model developed is feasible and usable. It can be used by higher education lecturers in Indonesia as a guideline in creating a course using blended learning approach.
The purpose of this research is in order to know the influence of learning model and the interest of study to the result of statictics study. This result be done to the machine engine university student, Study program of machine engine, Jakarta State University. Sample about 120 university students, that be distributed into four clasess. After be done the measurement to the interest of statistics study to each sample by distributing the questioner the intertest of study in the beginning, after that its result be sequenced from the most biggest to the smallest, in order to be taken the upper limite about 27% and the lower limit about 27%, namely 32 university students in each class. Finally, be gotten Finally be gotten final sample about 64 university students from two clasess base on the measurement of study interest. This research be done by the action of eight times of study in each class by using website learning model and directly beended by by given the test of study result for university student in order to know the differentiation after be given the action. The analysis of the research results using two way ANOVA followed by Tukey test. The result of the research shows that: (1) the learning result of the students who are learn by the learning model of the website is higher than the result of student learning learn by direct learning model, (2) there is interaction between the learning model of the website with the interest of learning toward the student's learning result, (3) The learning outcomes of students who have high interest and are learn with the learning model of the website are higher than the results of student learning learn by direct learning model, and (4) the learning outcomes of students who have low interest and learn by direct learning model is not higher than student learning outcomes which is learn by website learning model
Nowadays the industry of Information Technology (IT) requires a lot of experts on programming but they find it is difficult to hire ones. On the other hand, universities produce many graduates in this field of programming. There is a gap or competency mismatch between computer science graduates/IT graduates with the competencies needed by industry. This phenomenon is a challenge for universities to produce graduates who have abilities that are in accordance with the standards or competencies needed by the industry. The challenge for universities is creating a competent, acceptable and highly competitive workforce by creating learning that can attract students to pursue their competencies. The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of lecturers and professionals in the IT field about the competencies that must be possessed by a programmer through questionnaires distributed to industry and universities. The results of the study show that the competencies of programmers according to industry users, professionals and teaching lecturers do not have a big difference, which means that the learning objectives of programming in higher education are in line with what is desired by the industry as a graduate user. In addition to hard skills and soft skills, currently, a programmer also needs to have business skills.
Online system born out of technological advances benefits the world of education. This system utilizes the internet to disseminate information and act as a communication tool. The application of Blended Learning is generally able to improve the result of the learning process by changing learning habits and methods in many countries. By involving 7 e-learning instructors and 235 respondents, a formative research was conducted to investigate the increase in learning characteristics, i.e. innovation, compatibility and complexity to determine the appropriate model for the application of Blended Learning in an online learning system (SPADA) in Indonesia. The result of this research can be used as a guideline in the lesson plan design component, learning experience management and the balance interaction between lecturers and students during the learning process.
