One of the main competencies of the future doctor is developed stress resistance. High level of stress is characteristic of student’s life, but at the same time, it is favourable for opportunities related to the development of viable strategies and attitudes of the individual. It necessitates the study of stress factors of students and ways of its development. Objective. The objective of the article is theoretical and experimental study of psychological factors of stress resistance in medical and dental faculties’ students when forming their professional readiness. The sample included 104 people aged 18 to 20 years, who were 2 to 4 course students of medical and dental faculties of Poltava State Medical University. Methods and materials. The following methods were used in the empirical study: «S. Muddy's stress test», adapted by DA Leontiev and EI Rasskazova, «Test of meaningful life orientations (MLO)» by D. Leontiev and «Boston stress test». The study was conducted in November 2021 remotely, using Google questionnaires. Statistical processing of research results was carried out using Microsoft Excel Office 2010. The statistical significance of difference between groups was determined using the Student's t-test. Results. As a result of the study, some differences in the features of stress resistance between students of dental and medical faculties were revealed. Students of the medical faculty had a higher level of stress resistance. They were more focused on mastering the profession and professional activity and had higher risk-taking rates than dental faculty students. There were also differences in the value-semantic sphere: existential attitudes were more common among medical students and utilitarian attitudes – among dentists. Based on the obtained results, we conducted training on stress resistance in order to increase the level of stress resistance, which should be considered a way to respond to stressful situations.
This article for the first time describes the frequency rate of detecting various surgical infections depending on the number of pathogens and the spectrum of the microorganisms found in surgical patients of the Poltava Regional Clinic Hospital, Ukraine. The objectives include the identification of the etiological spectrum of pathogens causing purulent inflammatory diseases in inpatients of the surgical unit. Materials and methods. On the basis of the bacteriological laboratory, we studied 121 biological samples taken from the patients of the surgical unit. Microflora isolation was performed on nutrient media by bacteriological method. Microorganisms isolated from various biosubstrates were identified using API biochemical test systems (BioMerieux, France). Based on the findings obtained, the occurrence rate of certain pathogens and their associations was calculated (%). Results and discussion. The study demonstrated the prevalence of mono-infections, which make up 67%, caused by Staphylococci, mainly S. Aureus in the surgical patients. In general, gram-negative bacteria are prevalent, among which Klebsiella and Acinetobacter are found out as the most prevalent pathogens; among Gram-positive microorganisms, Enterococci were identified more often in association with other bacteria. Conclusions. The study has shown among the causative agent resulting in diseases requiring surgical treatment, gram-negative bacteria predominate, among which Klebsiella and Acinetobacter are the most often detected. Among gram-positive cocci, Enterococci are typically detected in the association with other bacteria; most often, this pathogen is isolated in monoculture, mainly represented by staphylococci.
Proposed are the models for external exposure to and contamination with 137 Cs (imitation of internal exposure) of human blood samples in vitro in doses up to 0.53 Gy for 1.75 h. Exposure conditions and experimental devices, as well as models for the calculation of the absorbed doses under external irradiation and estimation of the activity of the radioisotope needed to obtain the desired absorbed dose under internal exposure of blood cells, are presented. The created experimental models allow conduction of comparative in vitro studies of the 137 Cs genotoxicity at external and internal exposure of human blood.
