A b s t r a c tResearch on extraction of concentrates of organosulfur compounds from sour crude oil using various solvents has been conducted. The composition of organosulfur compounds has been investigated which showed that benzo -and dibenzothiophenes are predominant components of the selected concentrates relating to hard to recover ones from oil and oil products by conventional methods. The hydrogenation was carried out on the example of individual benzothiophene by means of electrophilic hydrogenation systems. The possibility to obtain concentrates of organosulfur compounds with high sulphide content from highly sulphurous oil has been shown.

The direct condensation of thiols (I) with formaldehyde (II), acetone (III) and sodium sulfide leads to title compounds (IV) in good yields.
