At present, the role of mass events has especially increased both for the organization of cultural leisure of the population, and for the formation of a spirit of unity and patriotism among the masses. At the same time, any mass events are inseparable from the process of catering for hundreds and thousands of people, which is inevitably associated with the need to ensure food safety, collection and processing of emerging significant amounts of food and non-food waste.Of particular difficulty is the issue of catering at mass sporting events due to the diversity of cultures, religions, the diversity of taste and food preferences of guests and the existing requirements for the nutrition of athletes, as well as taking into account the implementation of the task of sustainable development of food systems. The monograph discusses the concept of catering at mass events in relation to the modern conditions of the metropolis and taking into account the possible international rank of the event. The regulatory framework for this type of activity is described, the concept of waste management at major sporting events is proposed, action algorithms are developed for employees of the contact zone of public catering points to provide first aid to injured visitors.
