The article considers the some indicators of quality of technological processes machining, characterizing their impact on the environment and human, which determine the competitiveness of these processes. This primarily refers to the safety performance indicators which are specific to the technological processes machining – power consumption, vibration, noise, air pollution of the working area products of thermal degradation of cutting coolant, and some others. In addition, the work also touched upon questions related to social aspects of improving occupational safety performance.
