Introduction. Hypovitaminosis is currently common among various social groups. The present research offers a new medical formulation that includes a complex of antioxidant vitamins with a highly beneficial synergistic effect. Study objects and methods. The research employed the SF-36 questionnaire to assess the quality of life in patients with chronic diseases, as recommended by the WHO. The SF-36 questionnaire provides a quantitative description of the physical, emotional, and social components of the quality of life. Clinical control was performed on days 31–32 from the onset of the medication. The state of the microcirculatory bed was assessed in laboratory conditions by applying pressure to the nail bed. The concentration of malondialdehyde was determined by the method developed by M. Uchiyama and M. Mihara. Results and discussion. The paper introduces the formulation and describes the properties of each component. The efficacy of the medicine was confirmed experimentally. Twenty education and health workers were administered the medicine for one month. The control group consisted of fifteen volunteers, who were randomized and grouped according to professional factor, sex, and age. The control group consumed the medicine together with standard vitamins A, C, and E in adequate dosages. Conclusion. The developed medicine proved able to improve the physical, social, and emotional aspects of life quality under high psychophysical stress. The polyvalent effect of the components demonstrated a tropism to collagen synthesis. In addition, it showed an antioxidant effect and improved microcirculation. The medicine can be used preventively to reduce the risk of chronic pathology based on the accumulation of excess free radical activity.
Our extensive testing resulted in the following qualitative and quantitative composition for a new biologically active herbal product (the dietary supplement). One mg capsule contains: L-lysine -200; oxycinnamic acids -1.5; vitamin C -35; polysaccharides, not less than 2.1; caffeine, not less than 10; salicin, not less than 6; zinc -7.5; quercetin -7.5; rutin -7.5; vitamin E -3.5; thiamine -0.15; folic acid 0.02; cyanocobalamin -0.00045. These components possess the necessary substances and biochemical characteristics for the new dietary supplement to be used in strengthening the immune system and preventing infectious diseases. A new encapsulation process has been developed that allows several substances, which are usually incompatible due to their differences, to be used in one capsule. To examine the effectiveness, patients with acute respiratory infections were given the dietary supplement and clinical evidence was gathered. The patients administered 1 capsule of the dietary supplement twice a day demonstrated a noticeable reduction in the severity of the symptoms and the shortened acute phase. The new dietary supplement underwent the certification procedure according to ISO 9001:2000, proved to comply with GMP standard, the sanitary-epidemiological certificate was obtained and the mandatory State Registration was completed. The dietary supplement was tested in the scientific research-to-production facilities of Art-Life Scientific Production Association (Tomsk city), to ensure quality.
Purpose. To identify environmental climatic impacts resulting from the biodiesel fuel use for vehicles (Vs). Methodology. The methods are based on computation of natural resource consumption and toxic emission with the help of environmental footprint calculator being a software program. Findings. The results of integral assessment of the environmental impact (namely, consumption of water, power, natural resources, and emission of greenhouse gases 2, and NOx in terms of such base traction trucks as VOLVO FM, FH, FE, and FL) were computed for biodiesel fuel types 0, 7, 30, 100 depending upon different standards of EURO propellants. Both positive and negative environmental impact factors have been determined for consuming biofuels during full lifecycle of Vs. It has been defined that minor decrease in 2 emission owing to the use of standard modern biodiesel fuel is followed by significant increase in NOx emission as well as power and water consumption in terms of first-generation biodiesel fuel utilization. VOLVO F Vs were applied for comparative analysis of environmental impact by first-generation biodiesel fuel (i.e. 7, 30, 100) and second-generation fuel being hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). Similar tendencies were recognized. Moreover, opportunity to apply biodiesel fuels along with other measures decreasing 2 emission was analyzed. Originality. Originality is stipulated by the use of the integrated assessment of impact of vehicles on climate change as well as use of natural resources while applying biodiesel fuel for vehicles. Practical value. It is possible to forecast environmental consequences resulting from the use of various biodiesel fuels for Vs.
The development of new functional foods that contribute to the preservation and improvement of human health is one of the priorities in the food industry. In this regard, the production and sales of sugar confectionery products with low energy value and various enriching additives are gradually increasing, including those meant for diabetic therapeutic and dietary preventive nutrition. At the same time, the share of these products remains insignificant. The research prospective was to develop a technology for the production of marshmallow, which reduces the risk of obesity and type II diabetes. The study featured three samples of marshmallow: with granulated sugar, fructose, and inulin. The research determined the functional properties of the finished product. Three female volunteers (21, 32, and 45 years old) participated in the experiment. It was established that the replacement of granulated sugar with a natural sweetener, namely fructose and a mixture of fructose and inulin, led to a decrease in the body’s hyperglycemic response half an hour after consuming the analyzed sample, and resulted in a smooth sugar curve. Thus, natural additives and biologically active substances make sugar confectionery products functional, which is a priority for the development of the confectionery industry.
