This paper presents an analysis of achievements and the current state of one of the main trends of forest typological studies in the Russian Federation, namely, the genetic approach to the classification of forest types. The article describes the theoretical foundations of genetic typologies created by the founders of this approach. The article explains the relationship between the concepts of the forest-forming process and forest types. This article also includes a detailed description of the concept of forest-forming epochs according to the degree and depth of human impact on forests, as well as the forms and technical means of this impact, with examples of the practical use of genetic typologies in forest engineering and management. The article provides an analysis of the main directions of development and improvement of genetic typologies, taking into account anthropogenic impacts at different levels and strengths, climate change, and the use of new technologies to reveal the potential of the genetic approach to the classification of forest types.
The experience of disturbed lands forest reclamation on mountain slopes near copper-melting (works) has been analysed in the paper. It has been established experimentally that reclamation could be carried out by the method of slope terracing and creating cultures of hanging birch (Betula pendula Roth.) and scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) on the terraces. Forest reclamation effectiveness can be increased by applying a soil layer or a sewage sludge on the terrace surface as well as by Russian broom sowing (Chamalcytisus ruthenicus (Fisch. Et Woloszcz) Klaskova), seabuckthorn (Hippophaл rhamnoides L.) and honeysuckle (Lonicera caerulea L.).
The Middle Mediterranean is characterized by long, hot and dry summers,
significant historical and cultural values and the warm Mediterranean Sea,
making it attractive for coastal tourism. Given these characteristics, the
goal of our paper is to analyze the influence of summer temperatures in the
region of the Middle Mediterranean on the values of underlying economic and
tourism indicators. The method of simple linear correlation and regression
was used. Based on the results of testing, we came to the conclusion that the
temperatures in the summer months have no significant influence on selected
economic and tourism indicators. Also, we conclude that social factors have
the greatest influence on these indicators. The coefficients of variation are
calculated in the observed period to analyze the variability of the tested
values. It could not be identified a statistically significant relationship
of indicators with average temperatures.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
