Production of mouldings with high dimensional and geometrical accuracy is a principal problem in foundry engineering. In actual practice this problem is solved by using lost wax casting method. However it may result in occurrence of rejects, such as lost wax shrinkage, investment pattern shape distortion and cracking of ceramic shell mold. One possibility of strain state decrease in lost wax is preparation of investment patterns by compaction of spherical particles of powdered lost wax. This enables to distribute stresses by volume of compact more uniformly and consequently to create minimal difference of densities of zones equidistant from the center of compact even at one-sided compaction. It was developed novel approach for pattern structure formation, which makes it possible to remove rejects previously named.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
