Uncertainty and instability haunt us every day in today’s new reality. The purpose is a theoretical justification and empirical study of the hardiness of the personality in critical conditions of life. Psychodiagnostic complex of hardiness is indicated as a factor of personality adaptation. High average and high levels of hardiness are characteristics of an independently developed personality with a high ability to adapt. It has been established that the average level of hardiness contributes to the optimal experience of situations of uncertainty and involves a person’s choice of coping strategies to counteract the new difficulties in professional and personal life. It has been substantiated that respondents who have high rates of hardiness have a higher level of adaptation efficiency. It has been stated that “risk acceptance” as the component of hardiness of participants of the “Work and Travel” program is more pronounced than in the respondents of other samples (t = -1.54). It has been proved that empirical research of semantic psychological parameters of personality hardiness in critical conditions of life allowed to draw significant conclusions. It is noted that the results of the study need to be operationalized in training, educational and developmental and psycho-correctional practices. It is emphasized that the obtained empirical results should be used in the training of applicants for psychological specialties.

Groups of empirical methods were used in the study: psychodiagnostic method (method of studying the subjective and dispositional vitality of R. Ryan and K. Frederick, Beck depression scale); from the group of methods of analysis (processing) of data: qualitative and quantitative analysis of the obtained results, methods of computer processing of experimental data. The study involved 180 respondents aged 22 to 50 years, 90 representatives of parachuting and 90 respondents of the control group. Empirical research was carried out on the basis of: Aviation Complex “Avia-Soyuz” Aerodrome “Maiske”. All study participants received informed consent to participate in the study.
The present paper explores personal identity linguistic indicators detected in The Road Past Altamont by Gabrielle Roy. Works by this Canadian writer, public personality, and significant figure in French Canadian literature are of interest to a broad audience today in Canada, where almost all her books have been translated into English, and abroad. Written in a fluid, spare style, they are distinguished by lively narration and a keen sense of observation. Her literature approaches the world and people with clear sight and compassion. The Road Past Altamont (1966) by Roy is one of the most original in Canada, as varied as it is cohesive. The novel is dedicated to the coverage of the autobiographical narrative, the peculiarities of the personal identity crisis for different age groups, the succession of generations. These existential problems are actualized in crisis life situations. Despite containing four independent texts, the Road Past Altamont, each of which tells a finished story, is not a collection of short stories but a novel-saga. Its genre is both fragmented and unified, and it has a flexible structure based on the concept of the human life course. The four stories in this novel are connected not only by the main character at different points in her life but also by the themes that explore the changes, ageing, and society’s relation to the elders. The study aims to single out verbal indicators of personal identity obtained from the second part, “The old man and the child” of the Roy’s novel and the music album of the same name, created on its basis in 2021. Among the main findings are the defining psycholinguistic markers of time and space in the discourse of “The old man and the child” that encompass personal identity cognitive component. Hence, it is possible to treat the transformation of identity in the modern world in terms of constructing “self” as a reflexive project - implementing an integral, biographical story being changed in a polyvariant context of choice.
The author's approach to the empirical study of the peculiarities of self-development of a person has been considered. The criteria of self-development as a subject activity have been characterized. Its indicators have been given. The psychological resources of personal self-development have been singled out: the need for self- development as its source and determinant; conditions that ensure its success; mechanisms as functional means and conditions for its implementation. Their essence has been revealed. The need for self-development has been determined by the actualization of the characteristics of self-development (self-activity, vital activity, development of self-consciousness) and has been occurred when the content structure of the individual consciousness and the transformation of semantic entities changed. Conditions of self-development has been defined by mature I of personality, openness, tolerance to the new, the presence of a conscious goal of self-realization and active life strategy. Reflection, self-regulation and feedback have been considered as mechanisms of self-development. The methodical approaches and means of studying the peculiarities and factors of the development of the subject of self- development in adolescence in the process of professional training have been offered, and the results of their integrated empirical research have been highlighted. Particular attention has been paid to the analysis of the level of actualization of self-development resources among students, discovered with the author's diagnostic method "DCPSD" (Dispositional Characteristic of Personality of Self-development). It has been proved that psychological resources as a set of possibilities of development already exist in the psychological reality of a person. It has been shown that the dominance of the level of self-development resources’ actualization of the individual (and their combination) can be correlated with the dimensions of the individual psychological space, indicating the individual peculiarity of the personal self-development organization. It has been noted that, at the same time, actualization, strengthening and harmonization of all psychological resources of a person self-development, enrichment of its relations with the environment and other people, and increasing spirituality is necessary for the implementation of progressive conscious personal self-development.
