The surface tension coefficients of chalcogenide glasses are estimated. It is demonstrated that, to a first approximation, the results of the existing techniques for estimating the surface tension coefficients of chalcogenide glasses are in satisfactory agreement. The energies of formation of fluctuation microvoids in chalcogenide glasses according to the calculations from data on the surface tension and the density agree with the results obtained by the conventional method from data on the glass transition temperature and the fraction of the fluctuation free volume.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
