A bioética na formação do biólogo: um desafio contemporâneo

Abstract

Avanços tecnocientíficos atuais levam a indagações sobre a postura a ser adotada pelos profissionais das ciências, tornando relevante a reflexão quanto à formação ética do biólogo. Neste contexto, o estudo teve como principal objetivo apresentar o panorama de inserção curricular da Bioética e disciplinas similares nos cursos de Graduação em Ciências Biológicas das Instituições Federais do Brasil. Almejou-se analisar também as linhas teóricas que fundamentam o ensino e as temáticas que predominam nesta abordagem. Trata-se de um estudo bibliográfico e documental, com currículos e ementários pesquisados em 50 instituições brasileiras. Do total, em 36 foram obtidas informações sobre as disciplinas oferecidas e destas, somente em 50% há inserção curricular da Bioética ou disciplinas similares no curso de Biologia. Ementas foram obtidas em apenas 14 universidades e a análise destas revelou que a abordagem predominante é a temática. Os temas trabalhados com maior ênfase são relacionados à ética biomédica, embora tenha sido observada a expansão desta para uma abordagem mais holística, que inclui também questões socioambientais. Contudo, os principais desafios contemporâneos na formação do biólogo ainda parecem incidir na necessidade de suprir as lacunas curriculares quanto ao acesso às abordagens bioéticas e de romper a vigência dos sistemas éticos tradicionais no ensino superior, mediante a inserção de temas inovadores e abrangentes que sejam capazes de direcionar moralmente a atuação profissional destes sujeitos.
