A Building Block Method for Modeling and Small-Signal Stability Analysis of the Autonomous Microgrid Operation

Abstract: The task of the whole microgrid state-space matrix creation is usually done in a preferred textual programming language, and it presents a complicated, time-consuming, and error-prone job for a researcher without good coding practices. To ease the modeling task, contribute to the adaptation of new microgrid structures, control algorithms, and devices, and to improve the flexibility of the model, a graphical element building block method is proposed in this paper. With the proposed approach model creation of th… Show more

“…The measurement equation describes how the measurements received from the sensors related to the equations of state must be described in discrete time. The dynamics of the measured variable's model must be formulated as the state equations shown in Equation ( 5) to apply the Kalman filter; Equation (6) shows us how the measurements we receive from the sensors are related to the equations of state of the system [21].…”

“…With the growth of microgrids and their implementation in electrical transport systems, the development of new control strategies is required to manage aspects related to both the intermittence and distribution of the generation as well as new consumption profiles [4]. Therefore, the algorithm that is implemented for control in energy management systems (EMS) must be developed with novel techniques to improve the efficiency of microgrids [5,6]. The microgrid requires an EMS to efficiently manage the power flows from the microgrid's different power sources.…”

“…In fact, the safety of power grid operation in a specific region can be reflected by some indicators, including blackout time, blackout probability and blackout loss. In the process of power grid operation, basic data, including transmission line overload, grid abundance and node voltage, are one of the standards to measure the safety of power grid operation [6][7] . In general, the calculation formula of power grid abundance is as follows:…”

“…Te main sources of energy for the traditional power grid are fossil fuels, and it causes the release of carbon dioxide along with dust, alterations in the climates, and the ceaseless exhaustion of fossil fuels [10]. Te stability along with control of MG has been a signifcant topic owing to the augmentation in the exploitation of RES [11,12].…”
