A colorimetric and near-infrared fluorescent probe with high sensitivity and selectivity for acid phosphatase and inhibitor screening

Abstract: A dual-channel including a colorimetric and fluorescent probe based on the aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and enzymolysis approach has been presented to screen acid phosphatase (ACP) and its inhibitor. Moreover, the ACP activity was determined by real time assay.

“…Squaraines are versatile organic dyes which have shown intense absorption in near infrared region and have been widely applied in the optoelectronics elds such as light emitting diodes, eld-effect transistors and chemosensors. [40][41][42][43][44][45][46] Taken advantages of their unique properties, squaraine-based ion sensors can be constructed by a combination of squaraine chromophores with ligands. The intramolecular charge transfer will be occurred once metal ions have interacted with designed ion receptor.…”

“…Squaraines are a class of versatile organic dyes which exhibit unique optical properties, such as intense absorption and efficient fluorescence emission in the visible to near infrared region [ 41 , 42 ]. They can be versatile by linking different electron donors based on heterocyclic structure such as aniline, indole group to the squaric core which acts as an electron acceptor [ 43 , 44 , 45 , 46 , 47 ]. Squaraines are suitable for use in chemosensors because the optical properties can be tuned by external factors such as change in polarity and pH of solvent, temperature or the addition of additives.…”
