“…The incidence of sore throat using the LMA in our study was 28%, which is similar to the reported ranges: between 21.4% and 30% according to Wakeling and colleagues [8], 28.5% by Dingley and colleagues [9] and up to 42% reported by Brimacombe and colleagues [10]. The incidence of sore throat with LT use was similar to that of the LMA effects which confirms Mitzutamari and colleagues [11].…”

“…Previous studies on LMA and ETI for sore throat after general anesthesia airway management had different conclusions. [36][37][38][39][40] In the present study, there was no significant difference in the number of patients with postoperative sore throat and pyrexia between the two groups. LMA caused fewer complications during anesthesia convalescence, resulting in faster patient postoperative rehabilitation.…”

“…POST was a complication that might occur after insertion of LMA on patients undergoing general anesthesia, and was related to mucosal damage and mechanical damage due to friction and pressure between the device and LMA cuff pressure with pharyngeal mucosa during insertion and anesthesia, which lead to inflammation and triggered several postoperative symptoms, such as sore throat, dysphagia, and dysphonia ( 8 , 9 ).…”
