In this article, parallel multiplexing, in‐line, and parallel resonator topologies can be selected to realize a multiple band filter. The multiband filtering functions can be synthesized with four different theories: complex load, frequency transformation, strategic optimization, and direct iterative methods. Once the polynomials in reflect and transmission coefficients are obtained, the coupling matrix for realizing the multiband filter can be obtained directly. The multiband filters with selected topology can then be realized using planar, multilayer, coaxial, and waveguide structures. Furthermore, dual‐mode and multimode resonators can be introduced for size reduction.
