A miniaturised, nested-cylindrical electrostatic analyser geometry for dual electron and ion, multi-energy measurements

Abstract: a b s t r a c tThis work presents a binary programming model for online coordination of directional overcurrent relay problems in interconnected power distribution and subtransmission systems. The proposed model considers discrete time dial and pickup current settings as in microprocessor-based relays. The coordination problem is solved for every topological change in the network and whose optimized settings are remotely adjusted on each relay through a SCADA system, enhancing the speed and sensitivity of the … Show more

“…From Monte Carlo simulations, the geometric factor for the original configuration with 29 variable width channels was found to be 0.02 cm 2 sr eV/eV (for derivation of geometric factors, see, for example, Collinson et al [] and Bedington et al []). Reducing the channel width of course also leads to a reduction in the geometric factor; however, this effect can be mitigated by increasing the density of channels as the channel width is reduced.…”

“…The speed vector can change tangentially in solar wind discontinuities by > 100 km s −1 (see e.g. Borovsky, 2012;Borovsky and Steinberg, 2014;Burlaga, 1969;De Keyser et al, 1998); the jump is below ∼ 65 km s −1 in 99 % of the cases. Table 1 summarizes the implications of these numbers for the energies and solar wind arrival angles at 1 au (for a comparable exercise for heliocentric distances down to 0.23 au, see McComas et al, 2007).…”
