“…The Al 98.3 Zr 1.7 unit cell dimension is 4.0731Å, very close to the 4.0724(1)Å Al 1−x Zr x unit cell in our data for twice H cycled NaAlH 4 + 0.1ZrCl 4 . The Al 98.3 Zr 1.7 composition in [14] was determined based on an early report [47], and can be reassessed as a slightly Zr richer Al 94.5 Zr 5.5 composition on the basis of the recently determined concentration dependent lattice parameters reported in [28]. The observation of a significantly Zr richer Al 80 Zr 20 L1 2 structure for NaAlH 4 + 0.25ZrCl 4 in [14] is consistent with the observation of single phase Al 90 Zr 10 which also displays intense L1 2 ordering reflections [48], whose structure is analysed in [10].…”

“…This might be due to the substitution of some Zr for Mg and the formation of an Al(Mg,Zr) SS. Upon annealing, however, traces of Al 3 Zr were detected with a cubic ordered structure Ll 2 [19]. It is considered as a high temperature phase that is present in a metastable state at room temperature.…”

“…The few diffraction peaks indicate that the metastable cubic L1 2 phase of Al 3 Zr 58 has formed and not the thermodynamically stable tetragonal D0 23 phase 59 (cf. Refs.…”
