“…The eastern part of the city essentially consists of in situ weathered sheet wash deposits that were derived from older rock outcropping further to the east. The degree of weathering decreases eastwards [41]. According to the study of Al-Sefry et al 2006, urban development influenced the groundwater regime beneath these areas.…”

“…Particularly, Adam and Vero (1990) proposed a telluric-based magnetotelluric soundings approach to deal with the localization of tectonic disturbances based on experimental and modeling analysis, the application of which was utilized in NPP site selection. Kutbi (1987) took seismology factors (i.e., position of conceivable epicenters, the depth of the seismic focus, the energy of the anticipated seismic incidents and their relationship with the active tectonics) as basic criteria of NPP siting in Saudi Arab and examined two potential siting areas (i.e., Jeddah region and Dhahram region). In addition to the factors mentioned above, other geographical and geological factors, such as distance from volcanism activate areas, access to available cooling water, characteristics of subsurface material, properties of subsurface strata, depth and type of bed rock, topography and slope, inland and coastal location, have also been evaluated (Rouhiainen, 1987;Yu et al, 2011;Bo et al, 2013;Abudeif et al, 2015;Basri et al, 2016;Wu et al, 2020).…”

“…Medicine and farming can be, and should be, supported by PC. In the past, the PC method was used for decision making on the national level, related to nuclear weapons or energy [46]. Certainly, making such decisions must be guided by many common sense rules and GIGO (garbage-in, garbage-out) is one of them.…”
