A system for monitoring posture and physical activity using accelerometers

Abstract: Abstract-Accelerometers can be used to monitor physical activity in the home over prolonged periods. We describe a novel system for objectively and continuously monitoring movement, suitable for patients with chronic diseases including congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
