“…The nature of the treatment of control group participants differed from one study to another. The control groups in 10 studies [ 25 , 27 - 30 , 40 , 42 - 45 ] were exposed to the same conditions as the corresponding intervention groups, except for the implementation of internet-based support intervention in the latter. However, in some studies, the control group received e-bulletins [ 37 ], booklet [ 39 ], or book [ 26 ] while the intervention group received internet-based support intervention.…”

“…Finally, the number of studies using identical instruments and follow-up measurement points in similar target groups is limited (Pendergrass, Becker, Hautzinger, & Pfeiffer, 2015;Smith et al, 2007). An example of another intervention for carers of people with dementia that effectively increased wellbeing over the intervention period but treatment effects were not maintained after six months is the internet-delivered cognitive-behavioral intervention called Tele.TAnDem (Meichsner, Theurer, & Wilz, 2019).…”

“…While finding a cure and improving the management of people living with dementia is a priority for researchers and clinicians alike, it is equally important is a need to support family convenient alternative to face-to-face interventions to deliver education and support for family/friend caregivers [24] [25] [26]. Results from a systematic review by Boots and colleagues [24] suggests that internet interventions for family/friend caregivers of persons with dementia may have positive effects on caregiver well-being, provided that these interventions are tailored to the individual and consist of multiple components.…”
