Acehnese women's leadership is an interesting topic to discuss because of the strong Islamic law in Aceh. There have been several transformations in Acehnese women's leadership so it has become a topic of discussion and debate among the Acehnese people. This research aims to (1) describe the transformation of Acehnese leadership from a historical perspective and (2) describe the leadership of Acehnese women as a source of historical learning. This study is qualitative research with a historical method. The main source of this research is an article that contains the transformation of Acehnese women's leadership. The stages of this research are heuristics, verification or criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This study resulted in two findings. First, there have been several transformations of Acehnese women's leadership, including Laksamana Malahayati, Cut Nyak Dhien, and Cut Nyak Meutia. Second, Acehnese women's leadership as a source of historical learning includes the values of assertiveness, courage, and integrity as important points for the realization of student character. This research is a reference for teachers in fulfilling historical learning and for future researchers in conducting research about the transformation of Acehnese women's leadership.

This study investigates household accounting practices in the families of women migrant workers from a gender perspective and offers a change in the traditional roles of Muslim women. Through a critical approach, Tjoet Njak Dien, a non-feminist theory researcher achieved the study objectives. The results showed that the household accounting practices of migrant workers were masculine. Through the metaphor of Tjoet Njak Dien’s subsequent struggle, three strategies of household accounting practices were revealed. The first concerns earning income with halal and toyib work principles and considering the benefits. Second concerns management to be executed with deliberation and an intermediate attitude. Finally, accounting must be performed via communication and openness between husband and wife. The application could be a means of balancing the household bookkeeping of female migrant workers, which relies on rationality. Keywords: feminism, gender, household accounting

The discourse on Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) women's response to the call for jihad in the Battle of Surabaya in 1945 remains a matter of debate among both conservative and modern Muslims. This article utilizes the Islamic spirit approach proposed by Kevin W. Fogg by examining the correlation between NU women's nationalism and their responses to the jihad fatwa during the Battle of Surabaya. The results of this study conclude that NU women's responses were influenced by three factors: religious understanding, political awareness, and socio-cultural background. Indeed, there were differences in the responses of NU women who belonged to families of kyai, or experts in Islam, and were affiliated with pesantren, or Islamic boarding schools, and those who belonged to ordinary families or farmers to the jihad fatwa in the jihad resolution proposed by NU. Women who belonged to kyai families and were affiliated with pesantren had a deeper understanding of religion and contributed more than women from commoner backgrounds. They were aware that defending their homeland is considered an obligation. For them, independence was for Islamic purposes as well as a means to greater religious purposes. The jihad fatwa during the Indonesian National Revolution was considered a form of Islamic struggle. The fact that NU women participated in the call for jihad undermines the view of NU as an inclusive organization.
