Actors’ networks management for design co-ordination

Abstract: In a worldwide context of collaborative development of new products and/or services, companies have to control the design process to increase design performance. Formal and informal networks of actors are activated during the very first phases of product development projects in order to define the company's partners in a more efficient way. Our goal is to study relationships between co-design projects and networks of partners in order to help project managers in setting up design teams. This leads to the ident… Show more

“…This interaction is of several types: interaction between the expert designer and a digital model or global environment (virtual reality tools [12], intervention in a process of optimization rather than accept the result of a black box even set [13]), interaction between several actors of the product development cycle (interactive facilities [14], co-design [15,16]). For us, interactive design is also a creative activity dedicated to (re-)design products and services.…”

“…But, on the other hand, the process of innovative design has to be managed to be efficient, so the performance has to be known a priori. The design activity can be considered as a step of activities and decisions [9], but to tackle the formulated contradiction, several resources have to be considered, among them, all the activities linked with the innovative design process: activities linked with the marketing, R&D activities, human resources management activities [10], etc. To increase its performance, an enterprise can increase the performance of the activities of its different services, and of course, also increase the performance of the integration of these services.…”

“…19 To ensure effective service design, companies need to nurture relationships with customers by providing the most appropriate services, 4 thus increasing the value of the service to the customer. Service value can take many forms and mean different things to different customers.…”
