“…This method was superior as it had several differences with similar studies, which has been associated with the involvement and stimulation of more pain receptors through skin traction and deep muscle pressure, and reduced pain more, according to Wall and Melzack theory. [ 10 ] On the other hand, the needle penetrates the skin more easily and reduces pain,[ 24 ] and because the injection is less painful and the movement of the syringe causes damage to the tissue,[ 25 ] with this innovative method, the muscle is released by throwing method and injection can be performed in dart method, without hand shaking, and irregular movements of the syringe will be prevented, as the needle is inserted into the muscle inactively. By this technique, the needle will be inserted with completely no pain and muscle spasm and consequently, the injection pain will reduce to minimum, as muscle relaxation reduces pain.…”

“…Moreover, intramuscular benzathine penicillin G (BPG) is more effective than oral penicillin in the secondary prevention of acute rheumatic fever (ARF), and is, therefore, a first-line drug for the secondary prevention of ARF and RHD. [9][10][11][12] It is also more effective than longacting azithromycin, erythromycin, or sulphonamide. 13 Various country-based and organization-based guidelines such as the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, 10 World Health Organization (WHO), New Zealand Guidelines for Rheumatic Fever, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Australian guideline for prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, South African National Guidelines on Primary Prevention and Prophylaxis of RF and RHD for Health Professional at Primary Level, and Saudi Pediatric Infectious Society (SPIDS) also recommend intramuscular BPG as the medication of choice scheduled to be administered every 4 weeks depending on the patients.…”
