The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of social strategies in language learning to promote speaking skills. The study was designed in the survey model. The participants of the study were divided into three groups in a sample lesson. They were asked the question of “Why should we learn foreign language?” and were required to prepare and present a poster as a group. During the implementation phase, students were observed by the researcher through the “Speaking Skills Group Observation Form”. The results of the research showed that all three groups exhibited sufficient speaking effort, participation in activities, involving in poster presentations, and peer interaction. The results of the research revealed that social strategies tend to improve speaking skills and increase willingness to speak. It was also revealed that students were aware of the significance of foreign language education as a crucial skill in today's modern world. They associated foreign language learning with the following words: culture, democracy, education, empathy, friendship, intercultural learning, job opportunity, love, peace, open-mindedness, relationship, religion, respect, tolerance and trust. Furthermore, it was concluded that social strategies in language learning can be effectively employed in foreign language classes to reduce speaking anxiety.

Günümüzde sosyal medya kullanımı çok hızlı bir biçimde artış göstermektedir. Sosyal medya ve diğer çevrimiçi platformlarda fazla zaman harcanması üniversite öğrencileri de dâhil tüm nüfus grupları arasında çevrimiçi bağımlılıklara neden olabilmektedir. Dolayısı ile sosyal medya kullanımının çok yaygın olduğu düşünülen üniversite öğrencilerinde sosyal medya ve alışveriş bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi önemli bir konudur. Bu sebeple araştırma, üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal medya bağımlılık düzeyleri ve kompulsif çevrimiçi alışveriş bağımlılıkları arasındaki ilişkinin bazı değişkenler bakımından incelenmeyi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada nicel desenlerden korelasyonel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2020-2021 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Muğla Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencileri olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya 413 üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Sosyal Medya Bağımlılık Ölçeği- Yetişkin Formu (SMBO-YF) ve Kompulsif Çevrimiçi Satın Alma Ölçeği (KÇSA) kullanılarak çevrimiçi ortamda Google Formlar vasıtasıyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, t testi, ANOVA testi ve regresyon yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, kadınların erkeklere göre sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş bağımlılıklarının daha düşük olduğunu göstermiştir. Katılımcıların yaş, çalışma durumu, medeni durumu ve sosyal medya hesap sayısının sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş bağımlılıklarını etkilemediği anlaşılmıştır. Çevrimiçi alışveriş yapanların sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş bağımlılık düzeylerinin yapmayanlara göre daha yüksek olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca çevrimiçi alışveriş tercihlerinin, alışveriş sıklıklarının ve indirimleri takip etmenin sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş düzeylerini etkilediği görülmüştür. Çevrimiçi alışveriş yapanların yapmayanlara göre sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Kurumsal alışveriş sitelerini tercih edenlerin sosyal medya ve çevrimiçi alışveriş bağımlılıklarının diğer alışveriş yöntemlerine göre daha düşük olduğu görülmüştür.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between self-perceived job stress and social media use with eating attitudes of white-collar private sector personnel aged 25-45. All participant approved the Informed Consent form online. The research sample consists of a total of 402 people, 245 of whom are women and 157 are men. In the study their perceived job stress, social media use and eating attitudes were measured by applying the Job Stress Scale, Social Media Addiction Scale -Eating Attitude Scale, respectively. In addition to these, they were asked to fill out the Personal Information Forum, which consists of demographic variables, in order to better describe the sample. In the correlation analysis made with the data obtained from the study, it was found that eating attitudes had a positive and significant relationship with job stress and social media use. Similarly, a positive and significant relationship was found between job stress and social media addiction. In analyzes of demographic variables, significant differences were observed in job stress and eating attitudes at the level of gender and age. It is understood that job stress scores vary depending on their seniority. The job stress levels of those with a seniority of 1-5 years were found to be significantly higher than the job stress levels of those with more seniority. In the study, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between social media addiction and job stress and eating attitudes. When the result is evaluated as a whole, it was seen that social media addiction and job stress predicted eating attitudes in a moderate way.
