An electrochemical sensor based on copper-based metal–organic framework-reduced graphene oxide composites for determination of 2,4-dichlorophenol in water

Abstract: In the present work, we reported the fabrication of a novel electrochemical sensing platform to detect 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) by using a copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate–graphene oxide (Cu–BTC/GO) composite.

“…Regarding this equation and the number of electron transfers (about 4), the electrochemical reduction of NB on the surface of TCPP-(Mn)@CC electrode can be described as a four-electrons and four-proton process. 69,70 Analysis of response current versus accumulation time as another influential parameter was studied, whereby the accumulation time is changed just before the DPV is measured (Figure 4D). As observed in Figure 4D, under both low and high NB concentrations (i.e., 10 and 100 μM respectively), the DPV response current increased as a function of accumulation time, which can be attributed to the increased amount of NB molecules on the surface of the TCPP(Mn)@CC electrode.…”

“…Additionally, with an increase in the pH value, the reduction peak potential of NB exhibited a negative linear shift with a corresponding equation of E pa (V) = −0.0245 pH – 0.323, R 2 = 0.9937. Regarding this equation and the number of electron transfers (about 4), the electrochemical reduction of NB on the surface of TCPP(Mn)@CC electrode can be described as a four-electrons and four-proton process. , …”

“…Moreover, bands related to the Cu-O bonding in the structure of Cu-BTC NPs were observed in the range of 670-770 cm -1 , indicating the successful formation of Cu-BTC NPs [44]. The band at 1105 cm -1 is also known to be the characteristic band of C-O-Cu bonding in the structure of Cu-BTC NPs [47,48]. No significant difference was observed in the FTIR spectra of the neat Cu-BTC NPs (Figure 6a) and Cu-BTC/GO nanocomposites (Figure 6b and c).…”
