Understanding the concept is very important in learning physics. Many studies show that students' understanding of physics concepts is at a low level, including Newton's law of motion in class X SMA. While misconceptions in students are at a high level. Misconceptions can occur because the concepts embedded in students are not the same as expert opinions. The aims of this study were; (1) to determine students' conceptual understanding of Newton's laws of motion, (2) to determine student attitudes towards learning physics and (3) to determine the correlation between students' understanding of physics concepts in Newton's law of motion and students' attitudes towards study physics. The sample or subject in this study were 61 grade X students who had studied Newton's laws of motion. Research data collection was carried out in two ways, namely tests and questionnaires. The instrument for collecting data on understanding Newton's law concepts is the diagnostic four-tier test Newton’s law. The instrument to determine students' attitudes towards learning physics is a questionnaire adopted and then modified from the CLASS (Colorado Learning Attitude about Science Survey). The test data were analyzed statistically and the questionnaire descriptively. The results showed that the students' understanding of Newton's law concepts was very low. The majority of students have misconceptions, especially on Newton's first, second, and third Newton law. Based on the analysis of students' attitudes, it was found that; there are still 29% students who do not like physics lessons and are not interested in increasing the time to study physics. Then, Correlation between student’s understanding of physics concept and attitude towards learning physics, the result showed that the both variable had a correlation value of 0,420. Which means that the both variable has a moderate correlation with a positive direction.

This research aims to analyze the implementation of learning, skills of 4C, attitudes, and students’ understanding concept of physics at State Senior High School 1 Kinali. The research method used was survey research. The sample in this study amounted to 122 students of eleventh grade major in natural sciences and 3 teachers. In this study, there were four types of instruments, namely a conceptual understanding test (static fluid material), a questionnaire on skills of 4C students, a questionnaire on students’ attitudes towards learning physics, and a questionnaire for teachers in the implementation of physics learning. Data was analyzed using coding and percentage techniques and descriptive analysis. Results was the implementation of physics learning was not fully in accordance with the demands of the curriculum. The results of the test for understanding concept of static fluid material obtained by students who understand the concept were still low (3,6%), and misconceptions by 15.9%. Analysis result of students’ attitudes obtained that students who have a negative attitude of 49,18%. Analysis result of skills of 4C students, it seems that the lowest skills were creative thinking skills as 62,57%. It can be seen from the results of the analysis that there is a discrepancy between the results of the concept understanding test and the students’ self-assessment of their attitude towards learning physics and the 4C skills they have. Therefore, further research is needed such as experimental research to improve the quality of learning by teachers both in the use of learning models, media or material learning.

High school students' understanding of circular motion material is still low. One solution to this problem is to design interactive multimedia based on the cognitive conflict in the theory of circular motion to enhance the conceptual understanding of high school students. This study aims to determine the characteristics and validity of interactive multimedia based on cognitive conflict. The research follows the development research approach using the Plomp model. This study is limited to the preliminary study phase and the development phase, up to the validity test through expert review. The learning instruments include journal analysis sheets, teacher questionnaires, self-evaluation sheets, and expert review sheets. Data were analyzed using the percentage technique and the V-Aiken formula. The introductory study identified several issues in teaching circular motion, such as low understanding levels, teacher-centered physics instruction, lack of experimental activities, and a lack of interactive multimedia teaching materials. During the development stage, multimedia was designed with the following characteristics: the use of Adobe Animate CC 2019 application to support interactivity through students' smartphones. The multimedia was also structured according to the four learning model syntax based on cognitive conflict (CCBL model). The results of the self-evaluation test met the criteria for a very good rating, while the expert review test indicated a valid category. It can be concluded that the cognitive conflict-based interactive multimedia on circular motion material is valid and can proceed to the practical and effective testing stage.
