IntroductionCo 2 Z-type planar hexa-ferrite (Ba 3 Co 2 Fe 24 O 41 ) is a good candidate for multilayer chip inductors (MLCIs), mini-antenna, and electromagnetic interface (EMI) devices in the GHz range because of its high initial permeability and resonance frequency that are higher than other types of hexa-ferrite [1] . The crystal structure of Z-type hexa-ferrite is a mixture of M type (BaFe 12 O 19 ) and Y-type (Ba 2 Co 2 Fe 12 O 22 ) hexa-ferrite. High energy is required to form a single phase Z-type hexa-ferrite due to its high activation energy. Low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) processing of Z-type hexa-ferrite is an issue to address.
