O artigo analisa a versão do conto Branca de Neve adaptada pelo Programa “Conta pra mim” do Ministério da Educação, refletindo sobre as construções discursivas modificadas da estória original, os valores estéticos e imposições ideológicas. Os resultados mostram que, numa sociedade conservadora como a brasileira, tanto a obra quanto seu entorno de produção suprimem elementos das versões clássicas em prol de posicionamentos ideológicos que não contemplam o objetivo ao qual se propõe. O estudo revela que há, nesta versão da Branca de Neve, uma simplificação e perda de recursos importantes para discussões, como a inserção de hábitos sociais indispensáveis em uma sociedade tolerante e o conhecimento de recursos linguísticos criativos como as figuras de linguagem e maior riqueza em descrições.
