Assemblage of Perovskite LaNiO3 Connected With In Situ Grown Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Nanotubes as High‐Performance Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

Abstract: In this study, the synthesis of nano‐sized phase‐pure perovskite LaNiO3 with in‐situ grown nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes (NCNTs) is reported. The heterogenous material acts as highly active and durable electrocatalyst toward oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline solution. The LaNiO3 nanoparticles prepared by the conventional method require an overpotential of 490 mV, while the one synthesized by the proposed polyol method in this work requires only 410 mV, and the value can be further decreased to mere… Show more

“…The Ni 2p spectra of SSCN82 show two peaks at 853.8 and 859.3 eV corresponding to Ni 2p 3/2 and a satellite peak at higher binding energies [29,30]. From Figure 4d, the O 1s peaks for the sample are located at 529, 531.7, and 533.1 eV, respectively, corresponding to lattice oxygen, absorbed oxygen, and absorbed water [31,32]. The binding energies of Ni 2p and Co 2p in SSCN82 reveal that the Ni and Co atoms are uniformly distributed in the crystal structure.…”

“…The O ab / O L ratio of LaCoO 3 /NF (1.36) is higher than that of the bulk LaCoO 3 (1. 19), suggesting that LaCoO 3 /NF obtained via the hydrothermal method contains more oxygen vacancies. 29 The asymmetrical Co 2p spectra were decoupled into four components (Figure S5c).…”
