Assessment of ecological plasticity and stability of sunflower hybrids (Helianthus annuus L.) in Ukrainian Steppe

Abstract: Modern hybrids of sunflower show a pronounced response to changes in agrometeorological conditions of their growing. The
research was carried out during 2013-2015 under conditions of insufficient moisture in the Southern steppe of Ukraine. Field
and mathematical-statistical methods were used. A comparative assessment of levels of ecological stability was made for 7
sunflower hybrids (the company “Pioneer”). The application of plasticity and stability analysis by the Eberhard-Ru… Show more

“…At the same time, crop production should be economically and environmentally feasible. In recent years, Ukraine has been expanding the production of an important oil crop of universal use-sunflower [6]. The sown areas of sunflower (Helianthus annuus)-a traditional culture of the Steppe zone are actively moving to the Northern regions of Ukraine [7].…”

“…Today, it is necessary to study indepth the potential of hybrids and varieties for growing them in different conditions to determine their competitiveness and popularisation, which will increase the quality and yield of the crop. (Eremenko et al, 2019;Eremenko et al, 2018, Ieremenko & Kalitka, 2016. That is why today much attention is paid to the study of the influence of nutritional conditions on the formation of productivity of hybrids of both foreign and domestic breeding, in specific soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine Domaratskiy et al, 2018).…”
