Abstract:The energies of group Auger transitions are calculated using Slater's rules to allow for the effects of ionisation on orbital relaxation. The calculated intensities of Auger spectra, based on the Bethe expression for the ionisation cross-sections of the various electronic levels. are in fair agreement with the observed data. Assignment of the transitions show the predominance of the contribution of valence electrons to the Auger process.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
