“…Experience on autologous HSCT and KT has been described before in case reports, small case series, and most recently in a larger cohort. [30][31][32][33]49 An earlier study by Herrmann et al 32 reported the outcome of 14 patients with AL receiving autologous HSCT (n = 8 KT before autologous HSCT, n = 6 autologous HSCT followed by KT), and patient survival (79%) was not significantly different between groups and all renal allografts were lost due to patient death. The largest experience comes from Angel-Korman et al, 33 who report 49 patients with AL amyloidosis.…”
